No Website Traffic? 13 Easy SEO Hacks You Need To Know

Did you know that most websites get little to no organic traffic from Google, leaving many businesses virtually invisible online.

In competitive local wellness markets, like Vancouver, this often comes down to how well a website is set up to appear in search and Google Maps when people are actively looking for services.

Maybe you’re just starting out, or maybe your practice is established and you’re ready to improve your visibility—either way, being found online plays a big role in attracting new clients.

In today’s digital world, if your business isn’t visible online, it’s like showing up prepared without anyone knowing where to find you.

That’s where SEO (Search Engine Optimization) comes in, helping your website appear when people search for what you offer.

SEO can feel like a lot at first, but there are simple, practical things you can start doing right away to improve how your website shows up.

Whether you’re aiming to improve your rankings or simply want more people to find your website, these 13 tips will help move things in the right direction.

To keep things fun, each tip is linked to a Taylor Swift song title that matches the vibe.

1. ‘You Belong With Me’ – Claim Your Google Business Profile

This is the first thing I suggest to small businesses that have a small marketing budget = claim your
Google Business Profile.

Especially for local wellness practices, your Google Business Profile plays a major role in how you appear in Maps and local search results.

Think of it as your official spot on Google Maps—you belong with those top search results!

2. ‘Begin Again’ – Refresh Your Website Content

Search engines love fresh, updated content! Consistent blog posts, product descriptions, adding images or even FAQs. Keep things relevant and begin again with fresh updates that use keywords your audience is searching for. ABE (Always Be Evolving)!

3. ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ – Use Free SEO Tools

Take advantage of free tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ubersuggest, and AnswerThePublic to find trending keywords. These tools will help you see what people are searching for and help you add those terms to your site.

4. ‘Fearless’ – Optimize Your Meta Descriptions

Even if it feels technical, be fearless and optimize your meta descriptions. These are the descriptions under your site link in search results. Use keywords and make it compelling—think of it as a mini elevator pitch! Always be fine-tuning this.

5. ‘Style’ – Make Sure Your Title Tags Shine

Your title tags should be styled to include important keywords. Keep them under 60 characters and make them catchy!

For example: “Physiotherapy in Vancouver for Sports Injuries ”

6. ‘Shake It Off’ – Get Rid of Broken Links

Use a tool like Broken Link Checker to find and fix any broken links on your site. Broken links can hurt your SEO, so shake them off to keep your visitors happy and your rankings strong.

7. ‘Sparks Fly’ – Add Internal Links

Make sure your pages sparkle by adding internal links. Link relevant blog posts to each other and make your site easy for visitors (and search engines!) to navigate. For example, I might share this Local SEO for Wellness Practices blog to help you get additional tips while ensuring I added my own internal links.

8. ‘All Too Well’ – Optimize for Mobile

Google loves mobile-friendly sites, so make sure yours is optimized for smaller screens. You don’t want visitors leaving all too well because they couldn’t navigate your site on their phones! This one is super easy and SUPER important.

9. ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ – Compress Your Images

Large image files can slow down your site’s loading time, and that can lead to trouble (SEO trouble, that is!). Use tools like TinyPNG to compress your images for a faster, smoother site.

10. ‘Blank Space’ – Fill Out Image Alt Text

Alt text helps search engines understand your images. Don’t leave a blank space—write descriptive, keyword-rich alt text for each image to improve your SEO and accessibility! This is the most common SEO issue I see on audits.

11. ‘Red’ – Make Your URLs SEO-Friendly

Keep your URLs simple, clear, and filled with keywords. For example, instead of "www.yoursite.com/page1", try "www.yoursite.com/SEO-tips-for-wellness-business-owners". Clean URLs are red hot for SEO!

12. ‘Call It What You Want’ – Use Social Media to Boost SEO

Your social media platforms can drive traffic to your website. Share your content on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn, and call it what you want—social media can indirectly improve your SEO.

p.s make sure you use your keywords on social media too ✅

13. ‘The Best Day’ – Create Shareable Content

The best way to boost visibility is by creating content people want to share!

Write blog posts, make how-to videos, or create infographics.

If someone finds your content valuable they will usually share it.

When people share your content, it sends positive SEO signals and grows your reach—and that makes it the best day!

Improving your website’s SEO doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

Small, consistent updates can help improve how your practice appears in search and how people interact with your site.

SEO is a long-term process, but it builds over time.

If you’re an established wellness practitioner and feel like you’ve already implemented the basics but your visibility is still inconsistent, it’s often a sign that a more structured approach is needed.
